Cory Bucknam
As an art teacher living on the coast of Maine, I am constantly inspired by the natural world - not only by what is visible to the naked eye, but also by what lies beneath the surface. Cellular structures are as beautiful as seashells, patterns seen through a microscope are as inspiring as the patterns made by waves at the shore. My creative process ensures each piece is obsessively unique. Every work is completely sculpted by hand - from the smallest magnet, to the largest tile. No molds or stamps are used - each mark is hand-tooled using a variety of traditional and untraditional mark-making techniques. Active in the southern and mid-coast art scene, I exhibit and sell my work at a variety of local and regional art shows and festivals. |
